The "Show-Offs," previously known as the "5 Friends," are a group of talented teens from Ashtabula and Lake Counties who sing Broadway tunes, Show Choir classics, Holiday and Wedding music. These music-loving performers include students from the Ashtabula Arts Center's Theater Department, along with Edgewood, Lakeside, Jefferson, St. Johns and Paul, and Perry High Schools. The group is always evolving. Under the direction of Kimberly Godfrey and accompanied by Debra Fleming, the group hopes to begin performing for weddings and other events.Past performances include Brown Bag concerts, nursing homes, churches, benefits, and fundraisers and weddings. Patrick and Maureen
Patrick Dillane & Maureen Tanner perform with the "Off the Rails" band. They can be seen playing at various wineries throughout Ashtabula and Lake Counties. Their music is a blend of Roots, Country & Old Time Rock & Roll including songs by Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris and Del Shannon to name just a few. Patrick, a native of Tralee, Ireland, can also be heard singing an Irish ditty or two. Join us for a toe-tapping day!
Jim Fuller
Jim started his musical career participating in school band
programs and various church groups. While in his late teens he met local legend Spencer Thompson and was introduced to blues and jazz standards while attending the many jam sessions that Spencer held. He has performed in many area bands and is currently a member of the “Kingpins” and “Blues Project 2011.”

The Show-Offs
The Show-Offs is a group of talented friends from Ashtabula who love to sing Broadway tunes! These music-loving performers include Zach Adkins, Julia Hines, Livi Johnson, Emily Kline, Devin Powell and Brandon Sweeney. They sing songs that have been performed on the new hit tv series GLEE, along with songs from the musicals Wicked, Next to Normal, Camelot, Rent, Spamalot and much more! If you need entertainment for a luncheon,benefit, wedding, or even a picnic--this is your group!
Linda Fundis
Linda first appeared on stage in 1983, in Carl Reiner’s autobiographical comedy “Enter Laughing” at the Little Theatre of Romeoville, Ill. Since then, she has been involved in every aspect of theater, performing in innumerable productions and directing students and adults across Northeast Ohio. This past spring she directed the children’s production class show “Honk! Jr.” at the Arts Center where she shared her love for song and the stage with all the kids! Now is your chance to join the fun!
Kimberly Godfrey
Kim is a 2008 graduate of Baldwin Wallace College Conservatory of Music. After living in New York, Kim has moved back to Ohio where she is employed as the Arts Center’s Theater Coordinator. Currently, she is directing the summer’s production of “Footloose” which will open July 8 and run for four weekends. Don’t miss Kim’s special performances on August 3rd and 4th!
Dennis Ford
Dennis has been playing in bands since the age of 12. He has played in “Soul Expressions,” “Good Question” and “Qiana” and has performed with top entertainers including Tommy James and the Shondells, Chubby Checker and more. Dennis has written and recorded four patriotic songs, three of which have been published by Hilltop Records on CD. He will be singing audience favorite songs you know and love. Don’t miss this special performer who has become an area favorite!

The Ashtabula Arts Center's Brown Bag Concert Series will begin its annual summer run on July 7 and 8.
Sponsored by the Ashtabula Star Beacon, Wednesday concerts are held at the North Park Gazebo in Ashtabula. Sponsored by Gazette Publications, Thursday concerts are held at the Village Park in Jefferson. Brown Bag concerts are held at noon and feature a different performer or musical group each week. Admission is always free. You should provide your own lawn chair or blanket. Feel free to bring your lunch to enjoy during the show.
Brown Bag Concerts feature a varied group of artists that include folk, pop, oldies, Broadway tunes and more. The Ashtabula series is sponsored by The Star Beacon. The Jefferson series is sponsored by Gazette Publications.
The featured performer in the North Park gazebo, downtown Ashtabula, on Wednesday, July 7th will be Linda Fundis.
Linda lives in Austinburg with her husband Bob and she first appeared on stage in 1983, in Carl Reiner's autobiographical comedy "Enter Laughing" at the Little Theatre of Romeoville, Ill. Since then, she has been involved in every aspect of theater, performing in innumerable productions and directing students and adults across Northeast Ohio. This summer, Linda will be directing "Disney's 101 Dalmatians Kids" opening July 2 at Straw Hat Theatre at the Ashtabula Arts Center.
Appearing in Village Park in Jefferson on Thursday, July 8th will be Carol Linsenmeier and Friends.
Fiddlers Carol Linsenmeier and Bethany Anderson, assisted by Mikayla Carlson will play a selection of Irish and Scottish tunes. Carol teaches violin, viola and cello at the Ashtabula Arts Center and Willoughby Fine Arts. She has degrees in music education from the College of Wooster and the University of Georgia and a Ph. D.from Kent State University in Special Education. She received Suzuki teacher training from Ithaca College and teaches the Suzuki method, a method of teaching young children to play violin through a process that is modeled after the way children learn language, to children as young as age 3.
Concerts are held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, the Ashtabula concerts are held at the First Presbyterian Church on Park Avenue. The Jefferson rain site is at the United Methodist Church, adjacent to the park.
Future performers include Dennis Ford, 5 Friends, Bev Newbold, Martin Crombie and The Godfreys.
Dennis Ford has been playing in bands since the age of 12 after his mother, who loved to hear him sing, encouraged him to make music a part of his life. Dennis has played in "Soul Expressions," "Good Question" and "Qiana." He has performed with top entertainers including Tommy James and the Shondells, Chubby Checker and many more. Dennis has a recording studio in his home where he wrote and recorded four patriotic songs, three of which have been published by Hilltop Records on CD. Dennis will be singing songs from the 1950's to the present. Dennis will perform at the Ashtabula event on July 14 and in Jefferson on July 29.
Bev Newbold was raised on Southern gospel and traditional music and as a child studied classical piano and voice and for several years was part of teen gospel ensemble. After moving to Northeast Ohio, Bev became part of a popular folk duo, "Patchwork." She went on to team up with other performers and has also done many solo performances throughout the area. Bev has a rich expressive voice, a unique musical style and an outgoing personality that has made her a favorite with audiences throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Pennsylvania. Bev will perform in Ashtabula on July 28 and in Jefferson on July 15.
Martin Crombie was born and raised in Ashtabula and has been a practicing dentist for the past 20 years at the Healthy Smile Center. Picking up the guitar in high school, music has been a steady hobby since that time. In the last few years, that hobby has expanded into open mic and other local venue performances. These performances feature a variety of music including acoustic singer/songwriters from the 60's through today together with a mix of acoustic rock and blues. Martin will perform in Ashtabula on August 4.
Bob Godfrey is a retired Director of Choral Activities where he directed Perry High School's middle school choirs, high school choir and show choir. He has performed on stage all over Northeast Ohio for many years including a number of professional roles in Cleveland Opera productions at the State Theatre in Playhouse Square. He has also been a featured soloist in productions of Encore and the Disney/Stephen Schwartz Review and Handel's Messiah. In addition he has recorded two Gilbert and Sullivan operettas on CD.
Bob's daughter, Kim, is a 2008 graduate of Baldwin Wallace College Conservatory of Music. After living in New York, Kim has moved back to Ohio where she teaches acting and has directed numerous musicals. Currently, she is directing "Bye Bye Birdie" at Straw Hat Theatre that will open July 16 and run for three weekends. The Godfreys will perform in Ashtabula on August 11 and in Jefferson on August 12.

The Good Life and The Spotlight Singers Sing into Spring!
The Ashtabula Arts Center will be presenting two spring concerts during the month of April.

"The Spotlight Singers," the Ashtabula Arts Center's children's choir directed by Deborah Inks will celebrate the spring season by singing "America," a collection of American favorites and more. The free concert will be held on Sunday, April 18 at 2:00 p.m. Seating is first come, first served. Tickets are not required. A free cookie and punch reception will follow.
The following weekend, the Good Life Singers will present "Those Were The Days!" on Friday and Saturday, April 23 & 24 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $9.00 and can be purchased at the Arts Center or by calling (440) 964-3396. A free reception will be held following the performance.
The Good Life show will spin the audience back in time with nostalgic favorites such as "If I Had a Hammer," "
Scarborough Fair," "

A non-profit organization made up of volunteer members who love to sing, "The Good Life" began in 1976 and has been a part of the Ashtabula Arts Center and
Ashtabula County since its origin. Directed by Angela Ackley and accompanied by Beverly Applebee, the Good Life performs both Christmas and spring concerts.

The Ashtabula Arts Center presents one of the most entertaining blues-based groups in the Cleveland area! "Blue Lunch" comes to town for a single performance on Saturday, February 6 at 8 p.m.
Founded by leader Pete London in 1984, "Blue Lunch" has since played steadily at nightclubs, colleges, festivals, resorts, and corporate and private functions. The group has performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, at world famous Severence Hall and the Ohio State Fair. They've opened shows for Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Robert Cray, The Beach Boys and many other artists. They have recorded three cds including their newest "Not Live at the Copa" for Catch This Records.
"Blue Lunch" is an eight-piece band of bass, drums, guitar, harmonica, keyboards and a full horn section. They are known for keeping the dance floor full whenever they play their 1950's era swing/jump blues/Chicago style blues.

"Blue Lunch" comes to town for a single performance on February 6 at 8 p.m. Founded by leader Pete London in 1984, "Blue Lunch" has since played steadily at nightclubs, colleges, festivals, resorts, and corporate and private functions. The group has performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, at world famous Severence Hall and the Ohio State Fair. They've opened shows for Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Robert Cray, The Beach Boys and many other artists. They have recorded three cds including their newest "Not Live at the Copa" for Catch This Records. "Blue Lunch" is an eight-piece band of bass, drums, guitar, harmonica, keyboards and a full horn section. They are known for keeping the dance floor full whenever they play their 1950's era swing/jump blues/Chicago style blues. "Big fat rhythm & blues are back in style again and Blue Lunch's got'em! | | | | Dr. Martin Crombie plays a Sunday Coffeehouse! The Ashtabula Arts Center will be presenting "Acoustic Tapestry" with Dr. Martin Crombie on Sunday, November 22nd at 2 p.m. The show will be played in the intimate surroundings of the Arts Center's gallery. Light refreshments will be served. A native of Ashtabula, Dr. Crombie picked up the guitar in high school and music became a steady hobby that expanded into open mic and other local venue performances. He plays a variety of music including acoustic singer/songwriters from the 60's through today together with a mix of acoustic rock and blues. Dr. Crombie has been a practicing dentist for 19 years at the Healthy Smile Center in Ashtabula. Joining Dr. Crombie will be guest artists Dan Herbst on harmonica, Kathy Lynch, harmony vocals and Petr Wiese, piano. Tickets for the event are $10 per person.
